Children With Special Needs Program
Child Find
Child Find is a part of the Early Intervention program and is responsible for tracking the development of children, from birth to three who may be at risk for developmental delays. Child Find is a voluntary program administered at no cost to the family. If the child’s family decides to participate, the Child Find program coordinator contact the child’s family on an agreed upon schedule to discuss the child’s development and make sure the child is meeting their developmental milestones.
Some reasons children may be at risk for developmental delays are, but not limited to:
- Born prematurely
- Failure to thrive
- Spent 10 or more days in the NICU
- Elevated lead level
- Suspected hearing or vision impairment
- Lack of prenatal or well-baby care
- Family history of child abuse or neglect
- Family history of substance use
