Education
The Health Education department of Wayne County Public Health provides detailed focus on helping groups of people, from family units all the way up to large community perspectives, by developing educational campaigns and programs to promote healthy habits and environments. Health Education provides a vital part of what Public Health can do to continue to promote and protect the health of Wayne County residents by working with all of our departments within Wayne County Public Health to understand trends in health, data from local and big picture research, and input from our residents regarding their health. Several programs provided by Health Education focus on specific health concerns or improvement goals, such as reducing the use of nicotine from cigarettes, other forms of tobacco, and vaping through our Nicotine Cessation and Prevention Program, or our Child Passenger Safety and Injury Prevention Program.
Education on specific health topics can be provided upon request by contacting Elizabeth Ferguson at (315) 946-5749 or wcph@waynecountyny.gov
